- The Walk Here project has wide community support and participation. Walk Here has worked in partnership with DIG IN: Dupont Improvement Group, Councillor Adam Giambrone’s office, Toronto city staff at Parks and Recreation, Culture, Planning and Ontario Works, Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council, Perth Dupont Library, Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art, Dupont|Dyan Marie Projects as well as with leading cultural advisors, elected politicians, artist, craft people and local trades-people, community organizations, local schools and community service providers. We have been encouraged by all levels of Government.
- DIG IN secured a $50,000 contribution from Ontario Works for the City of Toronto to construct a first phase walking path through Wallace Emerson in cement and screenings. Completed 2005
- Over 138 artists have contributed artworks installed in or along the Wallace Emerson Park section of Walk Here.
- Through Ontario Municipal Board negotiations with “The Standard†development and Councillor Adam Giambrone’s office, $225,000 is being held in trust for use towards a Walk Here overpass bridge.
- A section of land connecting Lappin Ave to Campbell Ave Park has been promised by the Councillor Adam Giambrone’s office to construct a railway overpass bridge.
- Community members have volunteered many hours of help and materials.
